WHERE'S YOUR COMPASSION? YOU MAY BECOME THE NEXT VICTIM!

Good Evening, Everyone:

Sometimes I have to wonder what some people are thinking when they post comments on the Internet.
You're reading disturbing news about fires, floods, famine, earthquakes, tidal waves, hurricanes, tornadoes -- just name it, and some smug, pompous fool blames the victims!  It's their fault for choosing to live in the vicinity of a natural disaster!  Give me a break!

To be perfectly frank, I don't know of any place on the face of this planet that does not have its' perils.  People chose to live where they live for various reasons.  In America, economics is usually a determining factor in people's choices.  We're blessed.  People in many parts of the world don't have our options.  Depending upon the circumstances of their birth, they may have few, if any, choices.  The freedom of choice is what makes our country so attractive to people from more oppressive cultures.

The bottom line is that no one has 100% control over his/her environment.  Many unsuspecting victims have walked out of their homes believing that they would return and didn't for one reason or another. Be it a car accident, heart attack, plane crash, armed robbery - stuff happens!  JUST BE THANKFUL THAT IT'S NOT HAPPENING TO YOU!

When a crisis arises and people are forced to evacuate their homes -- pray for them.
Being smug and self-righteous isn't helping anyone.  These same people may have to come to your aid when you need it the most. Never under estimate the Laws of Karma. Whether we want to acknowledge it or not, we are our brother's keeper.

There's no crime in being kind and compassionate.  It's what Our Creator expects from us.  Tomorrow is not promised to any of us. So let's make the best use of the present moment.  It's not a difficult choice!

May Peace Be With All of You,

Sistah Selah
