RELAXATION AND REFLECTION ARE IMPORTANT!!!

Good Evening, Everyone:

Remember the old saying, "ALL WORK and NO PLAY makes YOU a dull PERSON!"

Too many things to do and so little time to accomplish everything.
I suspect that's how most of us feel these days.  We're just over scheduled, period!  We buy into the illusion that if we constantly allocate small portions of our waking hours among an ever expanding list of tasks, we'll eventually accomplish everything.  Something will get accomplished, alright!  It's called "burnout"!

Taking time to engage in relaxing activities is very important.  When we wind down and relax, we're actually giving our nervous system a chance to reset, itself, back to a much more balanced state.  Within that balanced state, healing takes place and it enables us to clarify what's really important.  Don't get me wrong, being "productive is not destructive".  Real productivity takes place when we accept that our time is limited and we can't spread ourselves too thin and survive.  Too many times, people buy into the belief that if you constantly poor a tremendous amount of energy into any endeavor, you can make it work.  What they fail to realize is that at some point, an assessment has to be done to determine what would be the most effective approach to successfully accomplish a goal.  Fine tuning our understanding by learning from our mistakes is crucial to our overall well being.  All situations can't be WIN-WIN!

Timeouts are necessary for us to rest and re-assess our options.  Traveling a great distance isn't really necessary.  Sometimes we spend too much time on the go.  Our so-called vacations can turn into another potential drain, if we're not careful.  Vacations are vacations!  No exceptions!  When you need to get away -- just do it! The simpler and less structured trips are much more enjoyable.  You're not stressing yourself out by adhering to an overly structured schedule.  Just doing what feels good with your time is all that's necessary.  Being good to yourself does not cost a fortune -- it just requires time.  Do it!  You're worth it!

May Peace Be With All Of You,

Sistah Selah
