Quality .vs. Quantity – Striking A Balance!!!

Good Evening, Everyone:

I don’t know about you, but I’m a “pack rat”.  I really don’t like to throw anything away because I believe that most things can be recycled for some useful purpose.  It becomes a problem when you don’t periodically purge what has been accumulated.  This usually happens when I have chosen to delay a chore that I don’t really enjoy.  I just hate sorting through papers, because there maybe unpleasant memories attached to them.  I try not dwell on each individual item, but sometimes it's unavoidable.  Perhaps, I’m just too sensitive and should view this task as an opportunity to perform some necessary emotional housekeeping.

I don’t know anyone who enjoys sorting endlessly through items that don’t trigger happiness and contentment.  Perhaps this is where the problem lies? Where is it written in stone that you always have to be “happy”?  Is your definition of peace and contentment one that really works for you or something that you have adopted for the sake of convenience?  Constantly measuring your self worth based strictly on how much you own as opposed to the caring qualities you have developed within your relationships won’t sustain your peace of mind.  Essentially, peace of mind is what we all desire the most.  At some point, it’s up to each individual to realistically define what circumstances will help further what really means the most to him or her.

When in doubt, pray!  A wise man knows when he’s at the end of his rope and needs help!

Self-sufficiency is wonderful, but problems can’t be effectively addressed when your emotional triggers are always being pushed.  Knowing how to strike a balance between your present reality and your dreams for the future is not always easy.  The only way to make it from point A to B is one step at a time.  By all means, remember that regardless of your situation that you are loved by God and he’s always there to guide you during both the best and worst of times.

Don’t sweat the small stuff and keep it simple! Just close your eyes and say, “I and the Father (or Mother) are One”.  The results just may surprise you!

May Peace Be With All of You,

Sistah Selah
