THE BEST LAID PLANS -- LIFE'S UPS & DOWNS

Good Evening, Everyone!

May All Of You Have A Most Blessed Week!

For me, the past week has been most interesting.  I was suppose to attend a retreat in preparation for an online Master of Arts program, I had recently been accepted into.
Unfortunately, my employer was not cooperative and I could not attend.  They chose not to respond to my requests to have the time off to do so.  Of course, they blamed the client but I'm not buying into that.  If they actually had any class or professionalism, they would have given me a timely response but they were more interested in keeping me working for their own benefit.

Fortunately, I'm a firm believer in "Karma" and "the Golden Rule".  Tacky behavior does not go unpunished and one of their competitors called me this week with an interesting opportunity that I pray will enable me to "kick them to the curb!"  Business is business.  I had a life before I became their employee and I will most certainly have one afterwards.

Essentially, it's up to me to "regroup" and move forward.  This week's obvious "monkey wrench" has forced me to "re-evaluate" how I want  to approach obtaining a graduate degree.  Originally, I had wanted to relocate to accomplish this goal on a full-time basis and I may have to reconsider this option.  Whatever I decide to do, I know that I will be fine because GOD will not place me in a situation that I'm not equipped to handle. Sometimes, it's hard to accept that your goals may not be accomplished according to plan but this reality is just part of dealing with life's ups and downs in a mature, rational manner.  My motto concerning these situations has become, "If you miss this train, wait, another one is coming".  Who knows, having to "regroup" just may have opened the door to other opportunities that I may have missed.  As I have heard it said, "the flip side of adversity is opportunity" and you have to know how "to spin it" in order "to win it".

May Peace Be With All Of You,

Sistah Selah
