A DREAM REALIZED -- PRESIDENT ELECT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA

Good Evening, Everyone:

It's been a while since I've updated this blog.  Work and graduate classes have been keeping me quite busy.

By now everyone on the planet knows about the historical event that transpired on November 4, 2008.
Barack Hussein Obama became the first African American elected to the Presidency of the United States.

Mr. Obama's victory was a dream fulfilled for all African Americans.  The blood, sweat and tears of countless people who fought for equality was not sacrified in vain.  Individuals such as Frederick Douglas, Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, Abraham Lincoln, William Wilberforce and our most beloved Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. endured intense hostility and insurmountable odds to pave the way for Mr. Obama's opportunity to assume the highest office in the United States of America.
His campaign motto "Yes We Can" will be an enduring inspiration for all of us.

Issues such as the economy, terrorism, global warming, and the continued unrest in the Middle East which has drained significant resources from our Treasury are very complicated but Mr. Obama is up to the task.  He's a realist who understands that America can no longer go it alone.  He'll have "to reach across great divides" to form coalitions with parties who are interested in peace and stability.  It won't be easy, but it must be done.  The survival of western culture as we know it depends upon it.

From the depths of my soul, I sincerely wish Mr. Obama and his future administration only the best as they embark upon an odyssey that will greatly impact the world for generations to come.  May GOD be with them!

May Peace Be With All Of You,

Sistah Selah
