IT'S OFFICIAL -- THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION IS OFF AND RUNNING!!!

Good Evening, Everyone!!!

Today , January 20, 2009, will certainly go down in history as a very significant day that will affect the entire world for years to come.

The United States of America has officially sworn in its’ first African American President, Barack H. Obama.  Mr. Obama is now considered one of the most powerful political figures in the world.  Considering his humble beginnings and the prevalent racism in American society, Mr. Obama’s accomplishment is simply astounding.  There is no question in my mind.  President Obama has earned the privileges and respect that his new office has bestowed upon him due to his ability to motivate Americans from diverse backgrounds to demand “a change for the better”.

Mr. Obama’s inaugural speech simply “rocked”!  He had no difficulty delivering his vision and belief in America’s ability to do what is necessary to regain our economic stability and remain a viable “super power” on the world stage.  He eloquently told us Americans and the world what we needed to know in an intelligent, no nonsense fashion.  He reminded us that America has triumphed over numerous obstacles in the past and we will do so now.  We owe that much to our ancestors as well as future generations.

Barack Hussein Obama is certainly, “The Man of the Hour”.  He has committed his talents and abilities in an effort to initiate the necessary reforms and policies to move America forward.  He’s not working for any self serving corporate “special interests”.  His mission is to “rebuild” or “retool” America into a more globally competitive nation that will better serve the essential needs of all her citizens.  He’s only one man with a vision who realizes that our great nation was built with the collective efforts of people who believed in all that she promised.

Historically, America has not always treated ethnic or racial minorities, fairly.  President Obama’s triumph does not erase the past but it is certainly a significant indication that Americans can collectively “transcend” racial, ethnic and socio-economic differences and do what is best for “the common good” of their nation.  Mr. Obama, we the collective majority of American voters have placed our future in your hands.  May God continue to bless America through your administration.  You said, “Yes We Can” and I pray that God will continue to extend us his hands.

May Peace Be With All of You,

Sistah Selah
